Republic of Austria lies in Central Europe to the south of Germany and Czech Republic and to the north of Italy and Slovenia.  Austria is located mostly on the Alps with a population of about 8 million.  Official language of Austria is German.  With the capital city of Vienna, Austria is divided into 9 provinces.

Austria is not only famous as having one of the world’s  best skiing resorts on the Alps but also for its historical buildings, premium museums and galleries, magnificent scenery, great mountains and adventurous hiking trails. Other than its natural wealth, Austria contains numerous and glorious architectural attractions, including many reminders of the great Hapsburg Dynasty, who dominated central Europe for seven centuries.  It must be stated that Austria has the hallmarks of the Austria-Hungary Empire beautifully: the capital, Vienna, is magnificent with its Opera House (Oper Haus) and the former imperial residence, Hofburg Palace. Austria’s other cities are also filled with a historical magic, for instance Salzburg, the birthplace of Mozart, with stunning Baroque cathedrals; and Innsbruck, in the center of the Austrian Alps.
